In this article published in the Canadian press when Quebec legalized cannabis, psychosis researchers alert readers about large longitudinal studies that link cannabis consumption among youth to the development of schizophrenia. They also refer to a Canadian study to show that young people are confused about the risks of cannabis use, and suggest that with legalization there must also be greater educational outreach efforts to engage young people in the findings about cannabis and mental health in order to help them make their choices.
